IFIC FOP Labeling Consumer Research
The International Food Information Council Foundation (IFIC) tested consumer comprehension and understanding of nutrition information presented on the front-of-pack. The study found that increasing the amount of nutrition information on the front of packaging strengthened consumers' comprehension of the information provided.

In an effort to examine the use and potential influence of food labels as a public health tool, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics conducted a study on the prevalence of food label use and the association between food label use and nutrient intake. The findings of the study support previous research that observed an association between increased food label use and improved nutrient intake and healthier dietary patterns.
